Christian Center Pittsfield MA

Christian Center Pittsfield MAFor over 120 years, the Christian Center in Pittsfield has been serving the community.  Its programs are inspired and informed by Matthew 25:44-45.

“Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?”

Food for the hungry

They provide a food pantry visited by 75 families every week, a daily hot meal to 50-100 people, holiday meals at Thanksgiving and Easter to hundreds, both at the center and delivered to shut-ins by volunteers.

They provide a clothing “boutique” for all ages.

Visit in Jail

They take family members to visit at the county jail, and have recently renovated a building on the campus to provide transitional housing for local residents returning from prison.

In addition, they provide counseling, information and referral to persons in need of services which are available elsewhere.

Community Service Opportunities

The Church on the Hill participates as volunteers, donors of clothing and other needed items, as well as giving financial support.  We invite your participation, too.

Three members are currently serving on the Christian Center Board of Directors. Although the name of the Organization is the Christian Center, it refers to the spirit in which services are provided, not to restrict the recipients.  All services are provided for the asking.  There is no discrimination, no need for proof of need.  The Christian Center serves all who ask, whatever we can, to the best of our ability.
Members of the Christian Center Family serve as well as receive.  Everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
